This is a project that I did entirely for fun. I've always been interested in architecture and urban exploration, and so I wanted to try my hand at creating an interesting abandoned structure that could be used as the backdrop for a video game or film.
I did the modeling in Rhino, and the texturing, rendering, and compositing in Blender. For the ivy and leaves, I used Thomas Luft's IvyGen program, and I referenced Andrew Price's Blender Guru site heavily for tutorials.
